This is a conversion that requires some work - more in fact than I had guessed.
I liked the basic model very much. It has a nice posturing and that lovely torch. The axe is not my choice for Mordheim, but I would love to use this model to represent myself when I play role-playing games. However, then that pistol had to go as blackpower does not exist in the games I play.
And when I needed to carve something off, I would also get rid of that weird amour that looks like it is made of belts.
Finally I wanted this model to represent myself in Mordheim too, and that equated to having him as my captain. As I am not stupid and would play Tibald as I would act myself, he needed a crossbow as an excuse for not getting into hand-to-hand combat with the wicked ones. Better leave this to unthinking flagellants and mad dogs.
I used my trusted power tool with the smallest possible carving head and removed the pistol and the armour on the chest. It was difficult to get the pistol off, so I ended by removing a lot of leg and part of the boot. This was rebuild using some Green stuff.
The new armour was made by covering the chest with a thin layer of Green Stuff and repeatedly stabbing it with a cocktail stick until it could pass as chain mail.
In order to secure the crossbow, I drilled a small hole in the belt. Then the model and crossbow was painted separately before assembly. I made a loop around the crossbow with a thin metal wire and glued the wire into the hole in Tibald. The wire acts as part of his belt and allow the crossbow to move a bit.
The last thing to do was gluing the quiver in place, making sure that it looked naturally.
