Strategy is everything that you do with your warband outside of playing a scenario.
Especially strategy covers:
All of these has to be considdered in view of tree important facts of the game Mordheim:
Basically you can have a shooty band, a close combat band or a ballanced band. What you choose are up to you, but you should really try all 3 types in order to find out what kind of band you like the most.
Then find a band that are suited to the way you want to play. If you want a shooty band you should choose a Mercenary band and not Sisters of Sigmar.
Always buy every hero allowed and give each hero aome kind of usefull weapon. You need heroes in order to earn money and you can't afford to have useless models. If you play Possessed you could skip one possessed, but this is the sole exception to this rule.
Buy some henchmen to protect your heroes. A mercenary swordman with 2 swords are more than a match for every starting hero execpt perhaps a vampire or a possessed.
Some equiment are 'must have' e.g. lucky charm. Get these right after the first battle if you can find them - and afford them.
Then start to build your band up. Numbers are more important than equipment for henchmen. If you play skaven, buy 3 verminkin each with sling and 1 or 2 clubs rather than buying 2 verminkins with sling, club and spear. Warm bodies are needed to protect your heroes as well as to gang up on the enemy in close combat. And that fancy weapon don't help against an arrow.
